Kaz Rodi — The Goose of Kadıköy: A fisherman,
a goose,
a bazaar.
Rodi followed fishmonger Nimet Köseoğlu from Aydın to Kadıköy. For seven years he was the bazaar's mascot and a neighbour to everyone in the district — and after losing his owner, he died of grief. This site exists so that his story is not forgotten.

Visit Rodi
Rodi's new statue stands where the first one stood: on Kilise Meydanı, the square near the Church of St Euphemia (where Yasa Street meets Mühürdar Street). Among the smell of fish, the pickle shops and the bakeries — exactly where he lived. If your path takes you through the bazaar, don't forget to say hello.
